In 2003, Max Weaver became the third Master of the Guild. That year, the Guild hosted the Franklin Lecture by Professor Alan Smithers at Bakers' Hall. The Guild also presented its first awards, recognizing outstanding students and educators. Additionally, the Guild conducted a survey of its growing membership, formulated its first strategic objectives, and launched a public speaking competition and a motto contest.
