I joined the University of Leicester in 2012, having previously worked at the Universities of Nottingham, Cape Town, and SOAS. I served as Head of Leicester Law School from 2014 to 2019.

• Theoretical perspectives on private law and human rights
• South Africa's post-1994 legal system and institutions
• The tension between private and public modes of redress for individual injuries

Awards and Honors

I have received research grants from the British Academy and the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, and held a Fellowship at the Israel Institute of Advanced Studies.
